Position Summary

SG Builders is seeking a skilled and highly adaptable Finish Carpenter to perform high-quality interior and exterior finish work on custom residential projects. This role requires a craftsman who can shift priorities quickly, support multiple project needs, and maintain high standards of workmanship in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.

The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, dependable, and flexible in supporting evolving field conditions and schedules.

Core Responsibilities

Finish Carpentry

• Install interior and exterior trim packages

• Hang and adjust doors and hardware

• Install cabinetry, vanities, and built-ins

• Complete T&G ceilings, wall paneling, and specialty details

• Perform punch-list and final detail work

Field Flexibility (Critical Requirement)

• Shift between tasks and projects as priorities change

• Support both rough and finish scopes when needed

• Assist with material staging, protection, and jobsite readiness

• Adapt to design revisions and field adjustments

• Step in to support other crews during schedule pushes

Layout & Quality

• Read and interpret plans and shop drawings

• Verify measurements and field conditions

• Maintain tight tolerances and clean reveals

• Protect finished surfaces and completed work

Material & Tool Management

• Maintain tools in good working order

• Track and stage finish materials by area

• Minimize material waste and damage

• Coordinate with Yard Manager on material needs

Qualifications

• 4+ years finish carpentry experience preferred

• Proven ability to work across multiple scopes and changing priorities

• Strong understanding of high-end residential standards

• Ability to read plans and shop drawings

• Proficient with finish carpentry tools and equipment

• Valid driver’s license

• Ability to lift 50+ lbs and work in active job sites
